FAQs
On Neurodivergent Students
I absolutely love to work with neurodivergent children and those with other accessibility needs. I work to make music accessible for each individual child by consistently listening, re-evaluating, and shifting my teaching strategies to fit the needs of the child. It’s crucial that we have dialogue around how I can best help your young musician – the more information you provide, the better each lesson will be! Let’s connect to make music accessible for your child!
Instrument Petting Zoo
For new musicians, I offer an instrument petting zoo! Your young musician will get a chance to try each one and decide which one feels best. After choosing the instrument they want to learn, we will discuss the best rental or purchasing options. All students will need to either rent or buy their own instrument, reeds, books, and cleaning supplies for lessons. For piano students, you will need a keyboard or piano.
Free Trial Lesson
Your first lesson is free! I offer a 30-minute trial lesson for you and your young musician(s) to decide if we are a good musical match. Parents or guardians are welcome to sit in the lesson or come back at the end for 10-15 minutes so I can answer any questions you may have. Lessons are offered either in-person or online from the comfort of your home.
Online Lessons
I do offer online lessons! Choose your favorite platform (Zoom, Skype, FaceTime, etc.) and let’s get started from the comfort of your home. The same pricing and policies apply.
Studio Recitals
At the end of each full-semester session, I will hold a studio performance for a local retirement or assisted living home. This is a great opportunity for young musicians to perform and a nice way to give back to the community! Family and friends are all welcome to attend and cheer on your musician. During times of social distancing, the Music by Hannah studio has participated in two virtual recitals – check them out here!
